How to Make a Collage of Pictures Online
Create a collage of pictures to tell a story with images. You can use your own photos and make a web album with software that you download or by uploading your photos to an online service. Some of the Internet's photo hosting sites give registered users a variety of options for displaying collages and sharing them with friends or family. The top sites have enough space for casual users and paid options with additional space and features for professional photographers. Select a reliable site that you can grow with, since moving your collage can be time consuming.

Review the terms of service, space allowances and features like editing tools and sharing options for Photobucket, a reliable photo hosting site. You will need to register for an account, if you don't have one (see Resources).

Sign in to your Photobucket account. Select the "My Albums" tab from the Photobucket menu. Click on the "Choose Files" bar to start uploading files from your hard drive. Photobucket allows you to select multiple files on your hard drive at once. You can also upload from a phone or by email.

Locate the uploaded photos under the "My Albums" tab. Create a folder or tags to identify the uploaded photos. Group the ones that you want to use for your collage together, for easier access.

Review and edit the photos if needed. You can crop and rotate your photos. Change the level of contrast, adjust brightness and color intensity as well. Remember to save your changes. You can overwrite the original upload or create a copy.

Click the "Scrapbooks" tab in the Photobucket main page when you are ready to create your collage. Photobucket's add-in software, Scraplogs, will load in your browser.

Choose a theme for your collage from the options provided. Clicking on a theme's icon will expand its size so that you can see how your pictures will be arranged in the template. There are hundreds of themes; however, there is no search function. Each one has a title and suggested purpose.

Scroll through the templates until you see one that you want to try. Click the green check mark at the bottom right corner of your choice to select it.

Select your photos. Photobucket displays them in a sidebar on the left side of the screen. Click and drag them to the placeholders in your collage's template. Drop the photos when you have them in the desired positions.

Add photos to the next page by clicking the template's page icons near the bottom of the screen to bring the additional pages to the front active. The number of the page that you are working on will be visible in the template's bottom box. You can rearrange the display order of the collage's pages.

Click the "Save" button when you finish inserting your photos into the collage. Type a name for your collage and agree to the terms of service. Wait a few moments for your collage to appear in your home page.

Tips & Warnings
Most Photobucket collage templates have more than one page. You will be prompted to create an account with the scrapbook service. This is only necessary if you want to use advanced features.
