Crochet a Single Stitch Scarf

Everyone loves a warm scarf. Sometimes, though, you can't find a scarf you like. A good alternative is to make your own scarf with crocheting single stitches. Making a scarf with single stitches makes the scarf tightly woven so cold air can be kept away from the neck better. A single stitch scarf can be made in one afternoon.

Things You'll Need:

    Instructions

  1. Step 1

Determine how long and how wide you want your scarf to be. For this project, an approximate size is used.

  2. Step 2

With the G hook, make a chain of 75 stitches. If you want your scarf longer, simply add more stitches. If you want your scarf smaller, add fewer stitches.

  3. Step 3

Make a single stitch in the second chain stitch from hook and in each chain stitch across, chain 1 and turn.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Step 3 until you achieve the desired length of your scarf. Tie off.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make double crochet stitches around the edges for a decorative look. Use variegated yarn.
