How to Make Organic Pet Food

Making organic pet food is one way to provide the ultimate food source to both nourish and satisfy hungry pets. Organic pet food is a healthier option to feed pets, especially when caring for pets with allergies or specific health issues. It also eliminates concerns regarding questionable ingredients of commercially prepared pet formulas. Additionally, the fear of pet food recalls will be completely eliminated by making organic pet food.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 pounds organic chicken, cooked, de-boned and chopped
  • 1 cup organic oatmeal
  • 1 cup organic zucchini, chopped
  • 1 cup organic sweet potatoes, grated
  • 1/4 cup organic squash, chopped
  • 1/2 cup organic carrots, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup organic broccoli, chopped
  • 1 cup organic ricotta cheese
  • 9 x 13-inch baking dish
  • Cooking spray
  • Zippered plastic bags

    Organic Pet Food

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Step 2

    Spray baking dish with cooking spray.

  3. Step 3

    Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl.

  4. Step 4

    Blend the mixture by hand until thoroughly combined.

  5. Step 5

    Press mixture into baking dish and place in a preheated oven.

  6. Step 6

    Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until lightly brown on top.

  7. Step 7

    Remove organic pet food from the oven and allow to cool.

  8. Step 8

    Store in the refrigerator overnight after the organic pet food cools. Cut it into serving portions the following day and store in zippered plastic bags.

  9. Step 9

    Store the pet food in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not include or feed chicken bones to pets, as they may pose a choking hazard.
