How to Build a Crossword Puzzle

Crossword puzzles can be fun and educational. With so many crossword puzzle software programs available on the market and on the Internet, you can easily create your own crossword puzzles and use them for parties or activities.

Instructions

1. Decide how large you want the crossword puzzle to be so that you can determine how many words and clues you will need.

2. Go to a crossword puzzle maker website such as Puzzle-Maker.com (See Resources below).

3. Enter your words, followed by a slash and the clue in a list format. You don't have to write them in any specific order.

4. Give your crossword puzzle a title by entering it into the "Title" field. Leave the columns and rows menu options as "Auto." Click on the "Create Puzzle" option.

5. Either save the puzzle, view it in an .HTML page or see the solution. You can always go back and edit it by clicking on the "Back" button in your browser.
