Relaxing in a Jacuzzi bathtub is a luxury many people enjoy. Over time, however, body oils and dirt can build up in the Jacuzzi's pipes. If you notice black grime, soap scum or other debris floating around, a thorough pipe cleaning is long overdue.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bleach
  • Dishwashing detergent
  • Vinegar
  1. Step 1

Fill your Jacuzzi bathtub 2 to 3 inches above the jets with hot water.

  2. Step 2

Use 1/2 cup bleach and 1/4 cup low-foaming dishwasher detergent. If your Jacuzzi is exceptionally large, you may need to add more. You can use 1 cup vinegar for this step instead.

  3. Step 3

Run the jets for 15 to 20 minutes to clean the Jacuzzi pipes. When done, drain the water and rinse the tub of all bleach and detergent (or vinegar).

  4. Step 4

Fill the Jacuzzi 2 to 3 inches above the jets with cold water, and run the jets again for 15 to 20 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Drain the water again and rinse. Once you refill and let the water warm, you're ready to enjoy your newly cleaned Jacuzzi bathtub!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure no children or pets are nearby as you clean your Jacuzzi bathtub. Remember that water at 120 degrees F burns the skin after 10 minutes, so never fill your Jacuzzi with water hotter than that.
