Fixing a Streaky Sunless Tan
-
1
Soak your skin in the bathtub for 10 minutes, then use a pure soap, such as Ivory, to remove excess sunless tanner from the outer layer of your skin. This step can be done in the shower, but soaking in the bathtub is more effective.
-
2
Exfoliate your skin, using a rough washcloth or loofah. Gently rub in small circles, concentrating on darker areas. Be careful not to press too hard, or you'll irritate your skin.

3
Shave your legs with a new razor. Shaving is an effective way to exfoliate. It removes color at a deeper level than a loofah or washcloth.
-
4
Dry your skin thoroughly with a soft towel. Pat, don't rub. Do not apply lotion or cream.
-
5
Apply sunless tanning lotion in a thin coat. Apply less tanning lotion in areas where your skin is already dark. Skip you ankles and knees if they are still dark from your previous application.
-
6
Dry you skin with a blow dryer set on low. Shortening the drying time can help prevent streaks or blotches caused by touching wet skin. Have a friend help you dry your skin for best results.

Tips & Warnings
Spray-on sunless tanners are less likely to steak than lotions. It is better to apply a thin coat daily and build your color. A heavy application can streak and look unnatural.
Remember to always apply sunless tanners to clean, exfoliated skin. Wash your hands after each sunless tanner application.
