Sea glass can be found washed up on tropical beaches or purchased from bead or beach stores. Brown sea glass is the most common shade found along beaches. Sea glass in shades of blue, white or green is much harder to find in a natural setting. Manufactured sea glass can be purchased in a wider array of colors. Natural sea glass has smooth edges due to the ocean salt acting in a sandpaper-type manner while the glass is churned through the seawater.

Select sea glass for the pendant. Medium-sized pieces, similar in size to a quarter, work best.

  2. Step 2

Purchase a jewelry findings kit or a package of pin backs from a bead or craft store.

  3. Step 3

Glue the piece of sea glass to the pin back using a hot glue gun. Allow the project to dry completely for at least an hour.

  4. Step 4

Cut 2-inch strips of jewelry wire to attach additional pieces of sea glass or beads.

  5. Step 5

Thread the beads through the wire. Bend and crimp the wire with a pair of pliers.

  6. Step 6

Loop the wire over the pendant pin back, allowing the beads or additional piece of glass to dangle. Twist and crimp the wire around the pin back. Cut any excess with wire cutters.
