Sea glass is a rare treasure found naturally along beaches. The sea salt, creating a smooth piece of material, corrupts glass fragments, which have spent years in the ocean. Glass is commonly found in brown shades, the result of broken beer bottles. Sea glass in shades of blue, green and white are rarer finds. Sea Glass can be purchased from stores specializing in seashells and shark's teeth. Flea markets and seashell shows also routinely offer the sea tossed gems for sale.

Cut two-piece of jewelry wire in 4-inch strips. The length of the wire will determine how long the earring hangs. Adjust the wire size to create shorter earrings.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the wire around the center of each piece of sea glass. This wire will also serve as a mode of attachment to the earring hoop. Wire can be bent in a decorative fashion to create added interest to the front of the sea glass.

Bend the wire tightly to secure the sea glass.

  5. Step 5

Attach an earring hoop or French hook to the wire. Thread wire through the earring finding, or slip onto the hoop attachment ring, and clamp with a pair or pliers.

  6. Step 6

Repeat this process for the second earring.

  7. Step 7

Add additional pieces of sea glass, or beads to the project by threading them onto additional pieces of jewelry wire. Cut wire into a 2-inch strip for each additional item.
