How to Clean Up Dog Diarrhea
When dogs are sick or sometimes too excited, they may develop diarrhea and are unable to make it outside before relieving themselves. The result for pet owners is a stinky mess that can be difficult to contain. Having plenty of supplies on hand when you know your pet is not feeling well can make this multi-step process of cleaning up diarrhea a quick and easy task.
Things You'll Need

1
Don rubber gloves to protect yourself from the mess of your dog's diarrhea.
-
2
Mop up as much of the feces as you can with paper towels. Discard the soiled towels in a trash bag that you can tie up to control the odor.
-
-
3
Fill a bucket with warm, soapy water and wash the area where your dog has relieved itself. Use a mild dish detergent that will not cause discoloration to your carpeting or furniture.
-
4
Assess the damage done by the canine diarrhea once the area has dried. If stains remain on fabrics or furniture, use an upholstery cleaner such as Resolve or laundry cleaner like Zout appropriate to the type of material.
-
5
Cover the clean area with an enzyme-based pet odor remover such as those available at PetSmart (see Resources). Enzyme-based solutions are effective in removing both the soiling and odor from pet urine, feces and vomit.
-
6
Allow the formerly stained area to air dry.
