Make Eyebrow Wax

Eyebrow wax is easy to make, and is less harsh to your skin than store-bought waxes that contain preservatives and other chemicals. Using a natural, home-made wax is less irritating and more nourishing to the sensitive eyebrow area.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Put 2 tbsp. of beeswax in a glass jar, then place the jar in a hot water bath to melt the wax. When the wax is fully melted, set it aside to cool slightly, but not to get cold---the wax should be runny.

  2. Step 2

Wash the strawberries, remove the stems and cut the fruit into small pieces. Strawberries are a natural exfoliant and antiseptic that nourish sensitive eyebrow skin.
Whisk 2 egg whites and set aside.

  3. Step 3

Place strawberries, egg whites, melted beeswax and 2 tsp. of honey into a food processor. Blend well until ingredients have a creamy consistency. Make sure the wax is runny---heat it slightly in a microwave-safe container for a few seconds if needed.

  4. Step 4

Use a popsicle stick to apply the eyebrow wax. Pat a cotton strip on the wax until it's firmly attached to the hairs, then pull it off gently but swiftly, against the direction of hair. Popsicle sticks are available at craft stores.

  5. Step 5

Boil a cup of water and add a tsp. of baking soda. Allow to cool slightly, and use this mixture to remove any sticky residue left behind by the eyebrow wax.

Tips & Warnings
  • Reheat the wax in a glass jar by placing the jar in a hot water bath. Apply a soothing moisturizer to decrease redness of the skin after waxing.
  • Be careful not to overheat the wax to avoid burning your skin.
