You can use melted glycerin to make a natural soap. Cornstarch is often used in vegan soap recipes to soothe the skin and give the feel that silk gives. Create your own luxury glycerin cornstarch soap balls at home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Cheese grater
  • One pound pour and melt glycerin soap
  • Boiling water
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Drying rack
  • Plastic wrap
  1. Step 1

Take a one pound block of melt and pour glycerin. Melt and pour glycerin is a soap base. Use a cheese grater to grate the bar of soap into soap flakes. Place the soap flakes into your large glass bowl.

  2. Step 2

Add in a quarter cup of cornstarch. Mix the cornstarch in with a wooden spoon. You want to make sure that the cornstarch is evenly distributed throughout the soap flakes.

  3. Step 3

Sprinkle a quarter cup of boiling water over the glycerin soap and cover with plastic wrap. Stir quickly with wooden spoon then cover tightly with plastic wrap and allow to cool for ten minutes.

  4. Step 4

Set up your cooling rack. The soap will cure for a week. You want as much of the soap ball to be exposed to air as possible.

  5. Step 5

Wet hands and remove the plastic wrap. Take a heaping scoop of the mixture in your hand and work into a ball. Place this ball on the cooling rack and allow to dry.

  6. Step 6

Turn the soap on a daily basis so that it dries as evenly as possible. Every other day you will want to wet your hands and roll the soap into a ball. This will shape the soap and add additional sheen.

  7. Step 7

After a week the soap can be wrapped in decorative wrap and tied with a ribbon for gifting.
