Lift the headband above the top of your head, and lay it flat against your hair. Adjust it until it is as close or as far from your forehead as you like.

4
Bring the two tails of the headband together behind your head, and slightly above the nape of your neck. Loop the two tails together as if you were tying a shoestring without the bow.

5
Tighten the headband by gently tugging the tails, and secure it in place by forming another knot. You can bring the tails around your front to lie on either side of your neck, or let them hang freely down your back.

Tips & Warnings
You can use headbands with tails to pull the bangs back from your forehead to create a different style. Tailed headbands are usually long enough to also utilize as a belt for jeans and dresses.
Be careful when walking through sliding and revolving doors when wearing tailed headbands, as they can easily get caught in them.
