Many facial lotions on the market today are made with chemical and artificial ingredients that can irritate and damage the skin. For people with sensitive skin types, making your own facial lotion at home may be the only alternative. Homemade facial lotion can be made right in your own kitchen using natural and healthy ingredients. Here is a step-by-step guide to creating your own face lotion using Aloe Vera gel and skin nourishing essential oil.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Beeswax Pellets
     
    Beeswax Pellets

    Melt the beeswax pellets. Fill the base of a double boiler 1/2 full of water. In the top of the double boiler, pour in the beeswax pellets. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the beeswax pellets have melted.

  2. Step 2
    Olive Oil
     
    Olive Oil

    Heat the oils. In a pot, heat the coconut and olive oils. Using a candy thermometer, test the temperatures of both the oils and the wax. When the temperatures are the same, pour them into a blender. Blend the mixture on high for 3 minutes.

  3. Step 3
    Aloe Vera Gel
     
    Aloe Vera Gel

    Add the Aloe Vera gel and the essential oil into the blender, and blend on high for 3 more minutes. The lotion should be creamy and light. Pour into containers and let the lotion cool completely before putting the lids on them.
