Mix 1/2 gallon of vinegar with a gallon of hot water in a bucket. This is a general cleaner that will kill germs and help lift away stains, algae and mildew.

Use the scrub brush to apply the vinegar and water mixture to the steps, scrubbing lightly. Apply the mixture liberally.

Sprinkle baking soda on stains and let it sit. The vinegar will react to the baking soda, causing some fizzing. This is a good way to power off stains and dirt without scrubbing endlessly.

After 15 minutes, use the scrub brush to scrub the steps, the baking soda and cleaning mixture to cover the whole area. Baking soda is a natural scouring powder and will clean and freshen the steps. By spreading the mixture around, you are making sure that all the nooks and crannies get clean.
