Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Standard Crafting Feather (4 inches tall and color to compliment the silk rose used)
  • Silk Rose (any color desired)
  • Floral Tape
  • Floral Wire
  • 1/4-inch wide satin ribbon
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Wire Cutters
  1. Step 1

Cut an eight-inch length of floral wire.

  2. Step 2

Clip the silk rose from the stem. Clip off two green leaves from the stem and set them aside.

  3. Step 3

Thread the floral wire through the base of the silk rose until half of the wire extends from each side of the rose. Bend the floral wire in half so that the bend of wire is at the silk rose and the two halves extend down from the rose.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the floral tape tightly around the base of the silk rose. Continue wrapping the floral tape tightly along the entire length of the two floral wires. When you reach the bottom of the wires, wrap the floral tape around the wire ends to completely cover them in floral tape. Wrap the floral tape back up the length of the wires to the base of the silk rose. Clip off the tape and secure it by tucking it under the previously wrapped tape.

  5. Step 5

Hold the feather in your hand. Position the two green leaves on top of the feather. Position the wrapped silk rose on top of the green leaves. Arrange all of these pieces until they look the way you want them to look.

  6. Step 6

Wrap the floral tape around the base of all of the pieces assembled in Step 5. Begin wrapping right under the silk rose and continue back down the entire length of the wire and back up again, securing the floral tape in the same fashion as you did in Step 4.

  7. Step 7

Cut a 12-inch length of ribbon and fold the ribbon in half. Place the ribbon at its half-way point at the bottom of the wrapped corsage wires and begin wrapping the ribbon around the wire up toward the feather and silk rose by criss-crossing the ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a bow when you reach the bottom of the silk bow to finish the corsage.
