How to Make a Half Pipe Out of Cardboard
A half pipe is a type of skateboard ramp which has grown in recognition, thanks in large part to the X Games competition. Toy models of this ramp are sold for use with the miniature tech deck skateboards. However, you can make your own tech deck half pipe with nothing more than a common everyday piece of cardboard.

Draw a 4- by 8-inch rectangle with a ruler and a pencil on a sheet of cardboard.

Draw a vertical line on either side of the rectangle, 3 inches from the left and right sides.

Draw a 2- by 2-inch square connected to the top and bottom of both of the new rectangles you created in Step 2.

Cut out the border of the design so that all of the shapes are still connected to each other.

Shape the large body of the rectangle by forming it with your hands, similarly to the way you would shape a baseball cap's bill. You just want to get a curved slope without making a crease.

Fold along the vertical lines that you created in Step 2. These will be the left and right legs of the half pipe.

Fold the squares that you created in Step 3 inward. These will act as supports for the half pipe so that the ramp remains solid while you ride your tech deck on it.
