Hair loss is common in both men and women. It's attributed to age, genetics and illness, but it can also be caused by repairable damage to the hair follicle or by clogged pores leading to it. There are many homemade remedies you can try to alleviate hair loss. Because every body is different, you may need to experiment with several recipes before you find one you have success with. It's also important to see your doctor regarding the underlying cause of your hair loss.

From Quick Guide: Baldness Basics
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 tsp Mustard Seed
  • 1 Cup Boiling Water
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Garlic
  1. Step 1

Drink mustard seed tea. Erika Mizrahi, a herbal expert for Grannymed.com, an active online herbal remedies website, claims that mustard seed tea will stimulate hair growth in men, women and children affected with premature hair loss. To make the tea, a teaspoon of dried mustard seeds are added to a pot containing one cup boiling water. Simmer the mustard seeds for 5 minutes, then drain and serve.

  2. Step 2

Use garlic for bald spots. Editors at "Soulful Beauty" claim that garlic rubbed over a bald spot removes toxins from the skin and scalp as well stimulates blood flow to the hair follicles. Rub the garlic directly on the scalp at bed time, and allow it to dry completely. Next, rub some olive oil on top of the garlic, and cover or wrap your head. The garlic and oil mix is shampooed out in the morning, and the treatment is repeated every night until results appear, which may take several weeks.

  3. Step 3

Create a cayenne pepper rub. Jude C. Williams, M.H. herbal expert and author of the book "Jude's Herbal Home Remedies", suggests combining a mixture of two heaping teaspoons of cayenne pepper and 1 cup of olive oil. Suffers of hair loss and baldness are to message the mix into the scalp daily, and continue as long as success persists.
