How to Change Household Fuses
Newer homes have all their circuits protected by circuit breakers, but many older homes still have the older, screw-in plug fuses that safeguard the wiring. These fuses, while nowhere near as convenient as circuit breakers, are easy to change should one burn out. Does this Spark an idea?

Determine which fuse has blown. You can tell this by looking through the window of the fuse at the metal strip. If the strip is not complete, the fuse is blown and must be replaced.

Unscrew the blown fuse by turning it counterclockwise.

Screw the new fuse in, turning it in a clockwise direction.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid touching the metal base of the fuse as you screw it in or out of its holder. This could result in an electric shock.
