Install the software onto your computer. If you have both a desktop and laptop computer, choose the laptop so you can learn the language from anywhere. Rosetta Stone is one of the most popular language learning computer programs. You could also try Byki or the Instant Immersion language series.

Start the language learning program. Get to know the interface and start the first few lessons. This is the beginning of your journey to learning a new language on your own.
