Things You'll Need:
- Dry dog food (beet and corn free)
- Plain yogurt
- Spoon
- Tennis Ball
- Pepto Bismol
-
Step 1
Before taking any steps to cure your canine's stomach ache, please be sure that they have one. Diarrhea, vomiting, gurgling noises and lethargic behavior can all be signs of a canine stomach ache.
-
Step 2
Mix a few spoonfuls of plain yogurt with a reduced amount of dry dog food. Feed this mixture to your dog for a natural stomach ache remedy. The mix of enzymes in the yogurt and dry dog food should help in clearing up problems in the dog's digestive tract. It is not OK to simply give your dog only plain yogurt. This will not expedite the healing process, but will likely make the dog even sicker.
-
Step 3
Monitor your dog's eating. A dog's stomach ache may be caused by eating too much too fast. To slow down your dog's eating, and prevent his tummy from hurting later, place a tennis ball in with his food. The dog will have to eat around the tennis ball, causing him to eat slower and alleviate eating-related stomach problems.
-
Step 4
Consider topical remedies. If your dog is still having stomach aches after trying the methods mentioned above, you may consult with your veterinarian about giving your dog a bit of liquid Pepto Bismol. It is best to speak with the vet first to make sure you don't overmedicate your dog.
