How to Clean Tea Stains on a Stainless Steel Sink

Tea and coffee are consumed daily in many households and businesses. Both liquids can build up and stain the sink after many remnants are tossed away. An unsightly stain in the sink causes it to look permanently dirty. It can be an intimidating mess to look at, but it is quite easy to erase those brown spots from your stainless-steel sink.

Things You'll Need

• Combination sponge cleaning pad
• Baking soda

Instructions

1. 

   Dampen the sponge. Wet down the sink.

2. 

   Pour a thin layer of baking soda onto the tea stains.

3. 

   Coat the drain area with baking soda.

4. 

   Lightly scrub the sink with the cleaning pad, working in circles.

5. 

   Put more pressure into the area of the drain rim; stains build up there.

6. 

   Scrub the area where the drain basket fits in.

7. 

   Turn on the water and rinse the entire sink.

8. 

   Wipe down the sink with the wet sponge to remove any residue from the baking soda.

• A soft-bristled toothbrush will work in small, hard-to-reach tea-stained areas in the drain basket.
