Step 1
Sit down with your weekly schedule and make a plan for when you will work out with your Wii Fit each week. Write these times down on your calendar and make the commitment to yourself that you will stick to them.

If you have not played on the Wii Fit before, now is the time to familiarize yourself with the activities and unlock new levels. As you try more of the exercises, new ones will open to you.

Step 3
Consider your cardio options. It is recommended that most people add cardiovascular exercise to their workout program four to five times per week. The Wii Fit includes a "Free Step" option that allows you to do simple step aerobics for a predetermined period of time. The speaker on the remote will keep you on the beat, so you can change the channel and watch television while steppinig.

Step 4
Incorporate the strength, yoga and balance workouts at least three days a week. These activities will help you strengthen muscles and work your core. Add yoga exercises for building muscle, balance and flexibility.

Step 5
Try to use every exercise on the software each week. While each person will have their favorite Wii Fit activities, it is important to focus on all the different muscle groups during your training program.
