How to Fix Filemaker Pro 7 Radio Button

When setting up a database in Filemaker Pro 7, you can turn your basic text fields into radio buttons. With a radio button, users can choose one of two options for each entry in the database. However, radio buttons will not appear in your database correctly unless they are configured with a proper value list of options.

Instructions

1. Open the Filemaker database you wish to fix the radio button on.

2. Go to "File" in the top menu bar, and choose "Define Value Lists."

3. Click on the "New" button and choose a name for the new value list.

4. Type in the two values that you want as the radio button options under the "Use custom values" section. For example, type in "Yes" and "No."

5. Go to the "View" menu and select "Layout Mode."

6. Double-click on the database field that you want to fix the radio button in.

7. Choose "Radio Button Set" from the Display drop-down menu. Then under the Values option, select the name of the value list you created in Step 3.

8. Click the "OK" button. The field should now properly display as a radio button option.
