Draw a simple angel dress and wings patterns (free hand) with a pencil on white card stock. The size depends on how small or large you want the angel to be. Cut them out with scissors.

  2. Step 2

Put two layers of angel dress fabrics together on a work table, right side in. Place the angel dress pattern on top of them and cut with scissors to make a front and back of the dress.

  3. Step 3

Use a sewing machine to straight stitch 1/4-inch from the edges of the angel dress with color-coordinated thread. Leaving the bottom and the end of the sleeves open, stitch from the bottom of one side, all around to the bottom of the other side of the dress. Turn right side out.

  4. Step 4

Put two layers of fabric for the wings on a work table, right side out. Place the wing pattern on top of them and cut out with scissors. With hot glue around the inside of the edges, seal the wings together. Attach the wings to the back of the dress with hot glue.

  5. Step 5
Patterns for oval face and two hands.

Cut an oval face and two hands out of the beige mat board. Attach one hand with hot glue between the opening of each sleeve and press together. Attach the face with hot glue also to the top of the dress and against the wings. With markers, draw eyes, nose and mouth on the face.

  6. Step 6

Add yarn in a random fashion around the face. Embellish the angel as desired.

Tips & Warnings
  • The easiest way to make a patter for the dress or the wings is to fold the card stock in half lengthwise, draw one-half of the pattern, then cut and open.
  • An adult should handle the hot glue gun if a child participates in this project.
