A self-cleaning oven is handy to have in your kitchen. If you do not know how to operate the self-cleaning cycle correctly, you may think the latch is stuck and that you will not be able to open the door. When following the proper steps, you will be able to have the oven self clean and be able to use the latch properly to open the oven door.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wait for the self-cleaning cycle to finish.

  2. Step 2

Time the oven after the self-cleaning cycle to cool down for approximately 6 hours. Depending on how well insulated the oven is, this may take longer.

  3. Step 3

Push the latch in the direction following the unlock arrow that is printed on the latch once the oven is cooled.
This latch will only open the oven once the oven is cooled down. This is a built-in safety feature.

  4. Step 4

Open the oven door once you have unlatched it.
