Build a Gift Wrapping Station

Nothing is worse than the holiday gift-wrapping rush. Between buying presents and attending parties, it can be hard to find time to actually wrap your gifts. With a gift-wrapping station, everything is in one spot to save you time and effort when it comes to gift wrapping. Learn how to make a gift-wrapping station for your own home.

Things You'll Need:

  • Table
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Paper towel roll
  • Trash can
  • Hanging organizer/makeup holder
  • Tool organizer bucket (Optional)

How to Build a Gift Wrapping Station

  1. Step 1

Pick a table to function as your gift-wrapping area, and use it only for storing and using gift wrapping supplies. Set up small, cardboard boxes to store loose items and scraps, and keep a book to write gift ideas in for the holidays. Write down the names of your family and friends so you won't forget anyone.

  2. Step 2

Stack rolls of ribbon on an empty paper towel holder, and place it on your table. This will keep the ribbon out of your way without taking up unnecessary room in a box. It will also be quick and easy to store them on the holder when not in use. If you want to make your own, superglue a dowel rod, about 1 foot long, standing straight up onto a thick, wooden block and let it dry.

  3. Step 3

Place a trash can beside or on the table, and keep all your rolls of gift wrap in it. If your table is high enough, you can store it underneath the table.

  4. Step 4

Hang a makeup or shoe organizer on a hook in the wall. If you can't put up a hook, lay it down on the table. You can also hang it off the side of the table by taping the top to the underside with duct tape. Fill the bag with items such as tape, gift tags and bows. For easy access, store the items you use the most in your cardboard boxes and items you use the least in your hanging organizer.

  5. Step 5

Buy a tool organizer bucket (see Resource below) to carry supplies with you on the go. Put wrapping paper inside the bucket, and fill the pockets with tape, gift tags, bows and other small supplies.
