How to Light Up a Christmas Tree Angel

Topping your Christmas tree with an angel is a tradition for many families. Angels are a symbol of the Christmas miracle.

Things You'll Need

• Christmas tree
• Decorative angel
• Strand of christmas lights
• Extension cord

Instructions

1. 

   Choose your Christmas angel. Most Christmas angels have light-up components. Check to make sure that there is a working plug on your angel.

2. Decorate your Christmas tree. Typically, the angel is the last element to be put on the tree, so put on all of your other decorations first.

3. String the lights so that there is an outlet near the top of the tree. Use your extension cord if necessary.

4. Carefully place your angel on the topmost branch, standing vertically.

5. 

   Plug the angel into the strand of lights nearest to the top of the tree. Plug all of the other strands in around the rest of the tree, finally connecting them to your extension cord.

6. Plug your extension cord into the wall outlet, and enjoy your lighted Christmas tree angel.

Tips & Warnings

• If your angel tree topper doesn't have light up components, you can easily add lights. Take a strand of regular Christmas lights and use wire ties (hint: use the flexible ornament hooks that you have left over) and string the lights over the angel, tying with the wire at key points, such as the arms, waist and dress of your angel.

• Be carefuly not to overload your electrical circuit by plugging too many lights into one outlet. Near a tree, it can be a major fire hazard.
