1. Write down your phone number, the phone number that you want blocked and a brief description of the nature of the calls (sales or harassment). This will help you organize your thoughts while you are on the phone with Alltel customer service.

2. Call Alltel customer service. If you are calling to block a phone number on your personal account call [phone]. If the account you are calling about is business, call [phone]. If you are an Alltel prepaid customer, call [phone].

3. Tell the Alltel Customer Service Representative that you want a certain number blocked. Alltel will issue you a code to block that number. The code is generated at that time.

4. Look through the manual for your cell phone. Some smartphones (blackberry, PDA, Treo) come with the options to block or bar specific numbers. If that is an option for your phone, follow the instructions to block the specific number.
