Things You'll Need:
- Legos
-
Step 1
Helicopter frameStart by constructing a frame all of the same color. Use a large flat Lego piece for the middle and a long flat piece for the tail. Lego pieces angled upward work well for the front. Use three wheels in the frame. Two are in the front while one is in the rear.
-
Step 2
Helicopter baseBuild the Lego helicopter base using a different color. Overlap the pieces in the frame with pieces base. Use Lego pieces that angle downward over the front and wheels. This give the Lego helicopter a streamlined look. Use Lego pieces angling upward to connect the tail at the rear of the frame.
-
Step 3
Helicopter TailConstruct the Lego helicopter tail by adding a long Lego piece. Top it with flat Lego pieces of the same color as the frame. Build the top of the tail using that color with Lego pieces angled downward. Use a short, flat Lego piece to create a short tail wing.
-
Step 4
Helicopter windshieldFind some angled clear Lego pieces for the helicopter windshield. The Lego company makes many varieties of these pieces and includes them in any set involving a vehicle. If you don't have any clear Lego pieces, just leave an empty hole for the pilots to see through.
-
Step 5
Helicopter doorsAdd doors to the sides of the Lego helicopter. Choose your own design depending on what pieces you have available. You can have doors on one side or both. The doors can open outward or slide. If you don't have doors, leave an empty space.
-
Step 6
Rear stabilizerFinish the tail assembly of the Lego helicopter with a stabilizer. This is a sideways-facing propeller to compensate for the rotation produced by the main propeller. This is a necessary piece for a realistic looking Lego helicopter.
-
Step 7
Main propellerPlace a roof on the Lego helicopter with large flat pieces matching the frame. Top with a main propeller. This is the same kind of piece used for the tail stabilizer but it faces upward. It is also a necessary piece for a realistic-looking Lego helicopter. Place the propeller on top of two jet engines and pieces angled downward.
-
Step 8
Helicopter bladesComplete the Lego helicopter by extending the propeller blades. Use two long, thin Lego pieces on each blade. Overlap them by two or three bumps. Add stickers of a tail number, name or logo for effect.
