How to Use a Pendulum Board
A pendulum board is a method of divination using a pendulum and a predetermined set of answers. The diviner asks the pendulum a series of questions. Depending on which direction it swings in, it can answer the question with a yes, no, maybe and several other answers.

1
Make or obtain a pendulum board. To make a pendulum board, just draw out arrows and write down what you want it to mean when the pendulum swings in each direction. In the pendulum board above, for example, swinging up and down means yes, left and right means no, clockwise means rephrase the question and so on. Which directions have which meanings doesn't really matter as long as you are clear about it before hand.

2
Make or obtain a pendulum. Some people like quartz crystals on ornamental chains, other people do fine with a penny tied to a string. Don't let anyone else tell you what kind of pendulum you "need." Your own beliefs decide what will work for you.

3
Find a quiet space. You can sit at a table or on the ground as you prefer. Some people like to light candles or put on meditative music to set the mood, but this is just a matter of choice.

4
If you have a spirit guide you believe in, concentrate on bringing that guide into the room. If you are just asking your unconscious mind, take a few deep breaths and try to clear your mind. Ask a yes/no question out loud while holding the pendulum over the middle of the board.
-
5
Watch for the pendulum to settle into a regular swing. It may take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or so, but it will start swinging steadily in one direction. This will give you your answer.
-
6
Ask a few more questions and wait for the pendulum to answer them. You will probably want to limit yourself to just a few questions so that you can remember all of the answers. If the pendulum gives you an unexpected answer or tells you to rephrase a question, you can ask a follow up question.

7
Close your ritual. If you have invoked spirit guides to help you, thank them for their help and give them permission to leave. If you have asked your unconscious mind for the answers, take a few deep breaths and mentally prepare yourself for returning to your everyday experiences.

Tips & Warnings
You may want to write down the answers in a notebook and check on how true they are in a week or a month. Pendulum boards, like Ouija boards work on ideomotor movement. The unconscious mind causes the hands to subtly move based on your desires or beliefs. But feel free to believe in spirits if you want to.
