How to Become a Flight Attendant at Air France
In 2008 Air France, together with its partner KLM, employed over 14,000 flight attendants as part of its cabin crew. The Air France KLM group has its U.S. headquarters in New York City, and flies out of 13 U.S. cities. To be hired as a flight attendant at Air France you must be, among other things, comfortable and knowledgeable working in a cross-cultural environment, fluent in French, and fit the airline's height requirements.

1
Be extremely familiar with particular cultures where Air France has flights. According to the Air France website, the airline assigns flight attendants that are "fully familiar" with the customs and needs on particular routes. For instance on flights between Japan and Brazil, Air France assigns Japanese flight attendants. The same is true for flights between Brazil and France, where Brazilian flight attendants are aboard.
-
2
Display fluency in French as well as in another foreign language. Air France flies all around the globe, and its passengers are multi-cultural as well as multi-lingual. Being bi- or tri-lingual is something that Air France values in an employee.

3
Prepare an outstanding resume along with a cover letter highlighting your skills and qualifications. Air France does not have a generic or standard online application form. Instead, resumes and cover letters in Microsoft Word format must be e-mailed to the address you will find on the website. Be sure to include the job title, the location, and the job code in the subject line.
-
4
Complete your high school education. No airlines, including Air France, will hire you if you do not have at minimum a high school diploma or the equivalent. According to Cabin Crews, over half of all flight attendants hired have at least one year of college under their belt, and over a third have a college degree.
-
5
Measure yourself before applying. Flight attendants aboard most airlines, including Air France, require you to be between 5'3" and 6'1" (without shoes) to be able to maneuver easily within the cabin.
