Instructions

    • 1

Remove any old flooring from the area you will be working in. Carefully take off the baseboards and quarter round molding using a pry bar or claw hammer.

    • 2

Clean any nails, adhesive or other debris from the sub flooring.

    • 3

Take accurate measurements of the entire floor surface with a tape measure. Make templates of areas that will need to be cut away in the vinyl, such as odd angles or permanent fixtures like toilets or pedestal sinks.

    • 4

Find an area to roll out the vinyl sheet so it is flat. Mark the measurements and templates onto the vinyl sheet and cut out with a utility knife.

    • 5

Place the sheet in what will be its final location. Make final cuts on all edges and check that the fit is tight against the walls.

    • 6

Starting the furthest corner from the door, pull up the edge of the vinyl sheet.

    • 7

Apply adhesive under the edge you have pulled back with an adhesive trowel, taking great care to stay at least two inches from the wall. Allow the adhesive to set until it is tacky. Fold the edge back and press firmly into the adhesive area.

    • 8

Work your way around the room using the same process.

    • 9

Roll a 100 pound floor roller across the floor to ensure it is properly adhered.

    • 10

Use a nail gun and finish nails to reapply the baseboard and quarter round moldings around the room.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make the first cuts at least an inch longer than measured to ensure they are not too short.
