How to Make a Brunch Casserole

When preparing food for a brunch, casseroles are a common favorite. They are easy to make and are usually prepared a day in advance. This brunch casserole includes all of the breakfast favorites in one dish. It is a healthy and filling meal that is sure to be a crowd favorite.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 16 slices of bread
  • 1 cup ham, cubed
  • 4 oz. of Velveeta, cubed
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups of milk
  • 1/2 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 8 slices of bacon, fried and crumbled
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2 cups cornflakes
  • 9-by-13 baking dish
  • Whisk
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Foil
  1. Step 1

    Grease pan. Using one end of the stick of butter, grease the bottom of the 9-by-13 baking dish.

  2. Step 2

    Position the bread. Remove the crust from the bread slices. Put a single layer of bread in the bottom of the pan.

  3. Step 3

    Layer. Cover the bread with the cubed ham and cheese. Create a second layer by placing the remaining bread slices on top.

  4. Step 4

    Whisk. In a large glass bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, onion salt and mustard. Pour over the bread.

  5. Step 5

    Chill. Cover with foil and set in refrigerator overnight.

  6. Step 6

    Create topping. In a mixing bowl, add the cornflakes. Pour melted butter over the cornflakes and mix well.

  7. Step 7

    Cover. Cover the top of the casserole with the cornflakes. Crumble the cooked bacon and sprinkle over the top. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
