Things You'll Need:
- Silicone oil
- Newspaper
- Lint-free rag
-
Step 1
Purchase some silicone oil designed specifically for airsoft guns. Do not use regular gun oil, as it may damage some of the gun's plastic parts and rubber seals.
-
Step 2
Verify that your airsoft gun is unloaded, and that the magazine or gas canister is removed.
-
Step 3
Disassemble the gun according to the owners manual over some old newspaper. Some guns may be disassembled in more detail than others. Some may not be disassembled at all.
-
Step 4
Apply the oil sparingly to the moving parts of the gun, and particularly to parts that rub together such as slide rails and the hammer mechanism. It is neither necessary nor desirable for the gun to be dripping with oil. A thin coating is all that is needed.
-
Step 5
Apply oil to the gas release valve of your magazine, if your gun uses Green Gas, or to the foil puncture barrier or CO2 canisters before inserting.
-
Step 6
Reassemble the gun according to the instructions.
