How to Keep Deer From Eating Tulips

Many people love to see nature up front in their yard, especially deer. But gardeners aren't too happy when deer eat their hard work. Deer especially love tulips, so it will require some work to keep them away. There are a variety of products and options available. Some are a little odd, but they all have their proponents.

1. Use a fence. You can fence in your whole yard with a big fence, or you can try putting a small fence around your garden or cages around the plants.

2. Use deterrents. Many people swear by using human hair or the urine of meat-eating people. You can also buy predator urine and commercial products such as liquid fence.

3. Make your yard unappealing. Keep a dog in your yard, that is, if the dog won't eat your tulips too. Add things like wind chimes and motion-sensing lights. Deer are very skiddish. Some people say that planting marigolds or daffodils in with the tulips will keep the deer away.
