Different types of tea need to be brewed differently due to the fact some teas are more delicate in nature. Below is a guide to brewing the perfect cup of Oolong tea.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Bring a kettle of filtered or bottled water (tap water can alter the taste of tea) to a boil.

  2. Step 2

When the water reaches a second boil (this is when the water starts to hiss and the bubbles are starting to cover the top of the water), bring your kettle to the side off of the heat.

  3. Step 3

Add the tea to the kettle. If you're using loose tea, use one teaspoon for every 8 ounces of water. This is equal to one tea bag per 8 ounces of water.

  4. Step 4

Oolong tea should be steeped for around 7.5 minutes. If you prefer it weaker or stronger, you can adjust accordingly. I suggest 4.5 minutes for those that prefer it weak, and about 11 minutes for those that like it strong.

  5. Step 5

If you're using loose tea, be sure to strain the tea before serving it.
