Keeping the weight off after a juice fast relies mostly on how you transition between a juice fast and normal eating. This is especially important for those that fast for longer than a couple of days, and absolutely vital for those that have fasted for a week or longer. Not breaking a fast gently can lead to not only gaining weight back, but shocking your system and becoming sick.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

On the first day after a juice fast you should stick to only consuming liquids. You should also be careful not to eat much dairy, or any sugar. I suggest drinking large amounts of juice, and eating low sodium soup. You could also have some real fruit and steamed vegetables. You want to eat only softer ones, because your system hasn't had to digest difficult food for a while.

  2. Step 2

On the second day you should drink juice, and start to eat more fruits and vegetables. I suggest eating hard (yet reasonable) fruits and vegetables like apples, pineapple,

  3. Step 3

On the third day you should eat regular fruits and vegetables instead of drinking juice. I also suggest drinking a small glass of milk, or having some soft cheese like brie, fresh mozzarella or goat cheese.

  4. Step 4

On the fourth day try eating more diary, as well as some grains and foods with a fair amount of fiber.

  5. Step 5

On the fifth day I suggest you add seafood into your lunch or dinner.

  6. Step 6

On the sixth day you should start eating meats like chicken or turkey.

  7. Step 7

On the seventh day you should start eating red meats. At this point it's the perfect time to go back to whatever your normal eating habits are.
