How to Safely Lose Weight with a Juice Fast

A juice fast is a common method for not only weight loss, but a gentle cleansing. Below are tips on how to safely do a juice fast.

  1. Step 1

    The first step to a juice fast is to decide how long your fast will last. I suggest doing a juice fast for 2-3 days. It is not safe to juice fast for long periods of time, so I do not suggest doing more than 5 days.

  2. Step 2

    I suggest taking multi vitamins during your juice fast. You may also want to take other vitamins, especially calcium.

  3. Step 3

    If you're not using your own juicer and decide to purchase store bought juice, be sure to only drink 100% juice and nothing with added or unnatural ingredients. Choosing organic juices would be best.

  4. Step 4

    Drink a large variety of juice. It's a good idea to also get vegetable juice, and for those that don't like veggie juice you can buy juices with vegetables where the flavor is hidden by the fruits used in the juice. Don't buy anything with added salt.

  5. Step 5

    Ideally you should drink between 6-8 glasses of juice per day (8 ounce servings). Drinking more would be fine, feel free to drink as much as you'd like. However, be sure not to go lower than 6 glasses.

  6. Step 6

    Even though you're drinking this much juice, you still should be drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day.

  7. Step 7
