get Spring Time Feet

It doesn't matter if you prefer bare and natural feet or if you wrap your toesies in designer silks and heels - a sexy foot begins with good foot care! This foot treatment is designed to give you immediate and lasting results. We don't get many weeks of Spring in Chicago, so we have to make the most of it. Our foot treatments have to get rid of winter roughness AND revitalize for spring. It would be nice if you had an electric foot spa - not necessary. It would be even nicer if you had an electric foot wax gizmo - not necessary.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lemon slices
  • Red apple cider vinegar
  • Epsom salts
  • Olive oil
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 2 pairs of thick white socks
  1. Step 1

Here we go with our intensive, revitalizing foot treatment - first up - visual inspection. Make sure you have no little cuts, sores or cuticle tears. We will be using vinegar, lemon juice and salt. All very acidic and not very cut friendly. I also recommend cutting your toenails and filing BEFORE you soak.

  2. Step 2

PRE-SCRUB: Mash several slices of fresh lemon together with 1/4 cup Epsom salt. Rub mixture into your feet, concentrating on any rough spots. Slip on a pair of white socks and stay busy for 15 minutes. Crush your mint leaves with a 1/4 cup of salt and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Set aside.

  3. Step 3

SOAK: Prepare a basin or foot soak with hot (yet comfortable)water and 1 cup Epsom salts. If you have some smooth garden rocks or marbles, you can add them to your soak, in order to massage your soles. Massage your calves, if you like. Or just relax, the vinegar and salt will do all the work.

  4. Step 4

BIG FINISH: When your soak is over and the water has started to cool, rub your wet feet with the mint leaf mixture. Just rub and watch all the dead skin slough off. Rinse your feet in cool water. Massage olive oil deep into your feet, put on a pair of thick socks and Voila! Velvet feet. When you next take those socks off, you won't recognize your own feet. Please do not overlook the fact that this is a WONDERFUL gift to give to someone you love!

Tips & Warnings
  • Epsom salts will relieve any swelling in the feet. If you don't have Epsom salts, use coarse salt, table salt or white sugar - all of which are abrasive and will exfoliate.
  • You can use any oil that you have. If you are using thinner oils like mineral or canola, apply petrolatum jelly as well.
  • Do NOT substitute white vinegar for the RED APPLE CIDER vinegar. Red apple cider will neutralize odors and soften the skin. To further neutralize foot odor, dust feet with corn starch or baking soda before bedtime and before putting on shoes.

on 8/11/2009 To SteveMar2 and PoetryMan - RUN, do not walk to the nearest basin of hot water and Epsom salts! LOL Trust me, women LOVE men with sexy, healthy feet. Oh, and if you do it for her - well, you can thank me later! ;-)
