Use photoshop to take any photograph and use text to make a vignette. This can be used to make a special gift for someones birthday, graduation, or something special to sell to your clients.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • photoshop
  • computer
  • images
  1. Step 1

Take a photograph into photoshop add a clipping mask around picture and you have a vignette made of text. This can be used to offer your customers a special item, for a graduation gift, or special birthday present. This is very easy to do and the results are remarkable. After you get good with this trick you can add multiple layers and photographs to make a creative montage.

    1) Open your photograph in photoshop. Size your image to what you want to print it out at.

  2. Step 2

    2) Add a second layer over your picture.
    3) Use the paint bucket tool and pick a color you want the vignette to be and fill the layer solid use a complimentary color, black, or white. You can adjust the opacity of the layer to fade the color out and not be so strong.
    4) Take the text tool and pick a font that is large and block type and type in center of layer what you want the clipping to be in this example I used 2009. You can use the persons name, age, year taken or graduated, grandchildren, etc.
    5) With text in place type ctrl T to resize the type the size you would like for the photograph to show through press enter when you have it the size you like.

  3. Step 3

    6) Take the magic eraser tool and erase the color out of text space
    7) Select the layer with the photograph on it and move the photograph around so it is showing through your text how you like it and you are finished hope you enjoy.

    Good Luck and enjoy.
