  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teasp baking powder
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 teasp lemon flavoring
  • 1 teasp vanilla flavoring
  • Mixing bowl

Instructions

    • 1

      Cream the margarine, Crisco, and add sugar slowly, creaming until very light and fluffy. Separate eggs beat the yolk and add to margarine

      Add the lemon and vanilla flavorings to the mixture.

      Sift flour, baking powder together. Add the flour mixture and milk alternately to the sugar and margarine mixture.

      Beat the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes or until stiff. Pour the mixture into a greased tube cake pan. Place in a cold oven. Bake 1 hour 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

      When the cake is done. Take the pound cake out of oven and let set for a few minutes. Remove from tube pan. Place on a cake plate and serve the pound cake while still warm. Taste great with coffee or iced tea.
