Have you ever had a burn in your carpet because a cigarette somehow thought the floor was an ashtray.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

A cigarette burn into your carpet is ugly and embarrassing. To get the Best Look use these simple steps.
The severity of the burn will make the difference in the time to fix it.
First you need to separate the carpet fibers in large portions. Use the scissors to separate the main fibers that are melted together.

  2. Step 2

When these are defined use the scissors the cut small (tiny) snips of the brown tops of the melted fibers. I must reiterate. SMALL SNIPS.

  3. Step 3

Then at the base of the burn at the weaving of the carpet firmly use the scissors to separate the fibers more. Do this by scratching the damaged area. Do not cut the seam.

  4. Step 4
    Nicely done!!

There should be a little more of the brown burned material to cut away. Do this. Then use your soapy water to clean the area.
This should complete the task and your carpet should look great.
