How to Make earring holders
People wear earrings to accent outfits or as a fashion trend. Although a popular piece of jewelry, earrings are often easily misplaced. Avoid misplacing your earrings by keeping them together in a jewelry box or an earring holder. Keeping them in an earring holder is a creative way to store and organize your earrings. Making your own holder is inexpensive and can take less than 20 minutes to complete.

Screen Earring Holder
-
1
Remove the glass insert from an 8-by10-inch picture frame.
-
2
Disassemble the frame and lay it on paper or plastic. Spray paint the frame, if you want a different color, and allow it to dry completely.
-
-
3
Purchase a replacement screen from a hardware or a do-it-yourself supply store. Flip the frame over face down, remove the back from the frame and measure the screen to fit the perimeter.
-
4
Attach the screen to the back of the picture frame with hot glue. Use a piece of fabric for a background and hot glue the edges of the fabric to the back of the frame on top of the screen.
-
5
Put the cover back on the frame. Display your earrings by sitting the frame on a shelf or hanging it on a wall as you would a picture. Slide dangling earrings through the mesh screen or push your posts through the screen and fabric to put your earrings in the earring holder.
Hanger Earring Holder
-
6
Prepare the material for the hanger earring holder. Use a wooden hanger, a 12-by-20-inch piece of mesh or netting material fabric and a 12-by-20-inch piece of felt or quilted fabric.
-
7
Decorate the hanger with your choice of designs such as stickers, glitter or ribbon.
-
8
Attach the edges of the mesh material to the edges of the quilted or felt fabric with hot glue. Use hot glue to line the connected edges with lace or ribbon.
-
9
Drape the mesh fabric over the hanger opening. Put the hanger on a wall or door using a nail or thumb tack. Arrange your earrings on the holder by inserting the dangling earrings through the mesh material or push the earrings with posts through the fabric to hold them in place.
Shoe Box Earring Holder
-
10
Prepare a shoe box top and a pair of pantyhose to make a shoe box earring holder.
-
11
Carefully put the top of a shoe box inside a pair of pantyhose. Be sure that the pantyhose fully covers the box top.
-
12
Tie both ends of the pantyhose to the back of the shoe box in a knot and cut off the excess hosery.
-
13
Add your dangling earrings by inserting them through the pantyhose material.
