How to Preserve Your Wedding Dress After the Wedding
More than just a pretty dress, your wedding gown deserves to be protected against natural soiling and age even after the day of the wedding. Experts recommend getting the dress professionally cleaned soon after the wedding to address any stains or loose stitching from wear. After it has returned from the cleaners, you can then take steps to ensure that it is properly stored at home.

Clean your hands.

Remove the garment from its plastic cover.

Remove the hanger and all pins and clips.

Line the base of the box with at least two layers of tissue paper, letting the edges of the paper fall outside of the box.

Gently lay the skirt of the dress in the box and lay tissue paper on top.

Fold the sides of the skirt inward and lay more tissue paper on top.

Roll two rolls of tissue paper and insert them in the sleeves of the dress.

Place several sheets of tissue paper inside the bodice.

Fold the bodice and sleeves over the skirt.

Place several layers of tissue paper over the bodice.

Place the lid on top of the box.

Tie it closed with a ribbon.

Tips & Warnings
Place wads of tissue paper in the sleeves of the dress if they are puffy, to maintain their shape.
Check your wedding dress occasionally to prevent permanent creasing.
Do not store your dress in a damp location, near a heat source, bright light or any place that is vulnerable to pests.
