Things You'll Need:
- Headphones
- tennis shoes
- measuring cups
- food guides
-
Step 1
First, this article will address the safest way to lose weight. There are no 100% safe pills, diets, or measures to lose weight and stay healthy. Whatever you do at a young age, such as prom age, will affect your body for years. So my advice is to lose weight the traditional, safer ways.
-
Step 2
Get your Ipod headphones on and head outdoors and take a walk. Walking each evening can help you lose 10 lbs before prom. It is easy to do. If you have a family pet, leash and walk them with you.
-
Step 3
You are what you eat. Literally when trying to lose weight. Take care to start reading labels of the food you are putting in your body. Read the recommended serving sizes.
-
Step 4
Use measuring cups and spoons to eat the recommended portions of your foods. By doing this, you will decrease your calories and fat intake a great deal.
-
Step 5
Substitute your old snacks for lighter, healthier snacks that put good nutrients in your body. Give up the potato chips and grab for popcorn, apple slices, pomegranate, mango and other fruits.
-
Step 6
If you walk daily, portion your food, and snack with your health in mind you can lose 10-20 lbs before your prom event with little to no effort. This isn't easy as your old ways will tempt you to skip the walk and watch the television or put down the apple and eat the candy. If you can not resist the idea of a sweet treat, eat a granola bar or Special K bar as they are loaded with sugar but much healthier and less fattening to consume.
