  1. Step 1

The first step you should take in applying for or finding financial aid for your education is to figure out what college you plan on attending. You then need to find out if this college accepts government funding or certain student loans.

  2. Step 2

After finding out specific financial funding that the college you have chosen accepts you need to ask if they have applications or forms that they provide for these things or do you need to apply yourself. There are many college's that have there own paperwork that you are required to fill out for funding.

  3. Step 3

You then need to decide if you want to apply for government funding which you do not have to pay back, or do you want to apply for student loans which most that are recommended by colleges do not go by your credit, or a private student loan which usually requires good credit and many times a co-signer.

  4. Step 4

Government grant if accepted by your college is the best place to start because they provide free money for your education. You can apply for these grants by entering FAFSA into your search engine and submitting the required information on the application which usually includes your personal information and info. from you taxes of the year prior. After getting this information back as to if they will help with your education expenses then you need to find government loans that are for education and apply for these if you need more funding whether it be for school or living expenses while your in school.

Tips & Warnings
  • There is usually always funding available whether it be a loan or a grant
  • Talk with your college first before starting the process of getting money for college
