Things You'll Need:
- time
- effort
- patience
- research skills
- common sense
- dedication
- motivation
-
Step 1
Even before you begin to write your grant, you should find out how much funding you or your business need, when the funding is needed (if recurring funding is needed), and never forget to say what the money is needed for.
-
Step 2
Before and during the writing of the proposal, it is very important that you should find out all there is to know about the organization that is offering the grant money, what their requirements are, how to they select and award grants, and the average amount time the grants are reviewed and granted or denied.
-
Step 3
The grant proposal should be easy to read and contain absolutely no errors. Even the name of the granting organization should not be misspelled.
-
Step 4
And, finally, when writing any grant plan, make sure to ask for money that will not only benefit yourself, but other people, as well. Most people make the mistake of asking money to please themselves, rather letting other people into the fold.
