   Place the antenna toward a cellular tower.

   If you have a two-story house, place the antenna as high as possible and toward a cellular tower. Determine this by going to your cellphone provider's website and checking where the towers are in your area. Alternatively, simply walk around the house to see where the strongest signal is.

2. Place the antenna high on the window in a vertical position. If possible, mount it outside your home. Run 20 feet of antenna cable to a convenient location that is close to where you need the signal, or in a centralized place in your house.

3. Test your reception in every room. Watch the reception bars on your cellphone to determine where the weak spots in the house are. Move your repeater closer to these weak spots, if necessary.
