Match paint for touch ups
Match paint for touch ups

You will learn how to effectively match paint to do touch up paint work on walls ceilings etc with minor paint flaws.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Local Hardware or Paint Store
  • Something that will come off wall or ceiling that has the color you want on it
  1. Step 1

First take a nail, screw etc. from the wall that has the paint color you wish to match on it. A good rule of thumb is to find something that has enough paint to be about the size of a quarter

  2. Step 2

Take that paint sample to your local paint or hardware store to be matched by their professional paint matching software and have them mix that color in the smallest size possible.

  3. Step 3

Take the paint to the wall, ceiling, etc. that you are covering and use a small paint brush to slowly paint a small portion of your paint flaw. You might need to return to the store to have them darken the paint if the color is too light. Remember that you can always make paint darker but once it is too dark you can no longer make the color lighter.
