Are you looking for a fun and unusual craft for your children? This Water Balloon Yo-Yo is the perfect outdoor activity for any age. Sit back and watch the fun (just don't sit too close). :D

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Small Balloon (per child)
  • 1 Large rubber band (per child)
  1. Step 1

Cut the rubber band in half. Tie a loop, big enough to fit around your finger, securely on one end of the rubber band.

  2. Step 2

Fill the water balloon about 1/4 of the way with water using a facet or garden hose.

  3. Step 3

Now blow air into the balloon until it is the size of a tennis ball. This could get messy but that just adds to the fun. Tie the end of the balloon as you would a regular air filled balloon.

  4. Step 4

Next tie the rubber band to the balloon securely at the knot of your balloon.

  5. Step 5

Put the rubber band loop around your finger as you would a regular Yo-Yo. Go outside (if you are not already outside) and throw the balloon as you would a Yo-Yo. Try to catch it as it flies back towards your hand.

  6. Step 6

Sit back and watch as your children have a great time playing with this squishy Yo-Yo.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use markers, stickers or other craft items to decorate the water balloons. Be careful to only use items that will not puncture the balloon.
  • Try out some of the Yo-Yo ticks with your Water Balloon Yo-Yo. Can you ROCK THE CRADLE? Maybe go AROUND THE WORLD?
  • Challenge your friends to see who can do the most creative tricks. This is great for birthday parties, or other gatherings, for entertaining the children.
  • Neighbors may see the fun you're having and ask you to make them (or their children) a balloon Yo-Yo.
  • Have extra balloons and a towel on hand in case one pops.
